Importance of a strong support team
It has been my experience in working with clients from a variety of backgrounds, from children to adults, that having a strong support system is one of the main factors in a person’s resilience, recovery, and overall mental and physical health. Resilience is the psychological quality that allows people to be impacted by adversities and rebound at least as strong as before, if not more. While resilience is certainly an internal quality that many possess, in times when people experience trauma or devastating news, having a strong support system can remind the recovering person that they are not alone in creating a bright future, in owning their new normal, in practicing self-compassion, and in keeping a positive outlook. Unfortunately, in my practice, I have also witnessed the opposite; of those who do not have a support system, or who are surrounded by those who are negative or hurtful. This experience can be devastating to a person’s mental health, and often leads to depression and/or giving up. Therefore, many have found that having loved ones' support dramatically impacts mental and physical health.

Prayers For Noah
On October 14th, Noah Jackson suffered a brain injury during his JV football game. He was intubated and air flighted to Texas Children's Hospital. The CT showed he had a subdural hematoma on the right cerebrum and he was in surgery for several hours.
